KOH LANTA

Lanta Island National Park covers 152 square kilometres of Lanta Islands. This Island forms the most southern district of Krabi Province. It was known long ago by its name in the Malay language, Pulao Satak, which means Long Beach Island. While some others said that the name is corrupted from Javanese Lan Tas, which means a grilled fish. Several important Islands in the national park area are:

Lanta Yai Island is where the District and national Park office is located. The Island geography is mountainous and rugged, especially near the southern tip. Some beaches are gravelly while others have fine white sand. Most of the hotels and resorts are located on this island.

Islands around Koh Lanta; Taleng Beng Island: This island is in some ways a smaller version of Phi Phi Ley which is composed of limestone-honeycombed with caves and inhabited by the same swifts whose nests are made into soup. Small beaches and caves appear when the tide is low.

Hah Island: A group of 5 islands, Hah Yai has a field of grass on its ridgeline. Another Islands resembles in shape a sailboat, one has water that passes from one side to another beneath it. There is some coral in the shallow water.

Ngai Island: A fine sandy beach and coral reefs rundown the east of this island. It is perfect for diving. Regular ferries and charter craft are available from Pak Meng Pier in Trang Province.

Rok Nai Island: This island is composed largely of formidable cliffs. On the east side are a fine sandy beach and coral gardens growing around sea rocks. On the north side are San Jao Bay and Thong Bay.

Rok Nok Island: This island has fine sandy beaches and shallow water corals reef on the southeast and southern. Also not to be missed are ManSai Bay and Talu Beach.

Hin Dang: This submerged open water reef in the Andaman Sea features a multiplicity of colourful corals to attract serious scuba divers.

Koh Rok Tour by Speedboat Koh Rok is one of the most beautiful islands in the Andaman Sea. It's a national park consists of two tiny islands name Koh Rok Nai and Koh Rok Nok. While snorkelling, you can see hard and soft corals reefs and colourful marine life around the islands. The beach is white and powdery with lots of hermit crabs crawling around and many giant monitor lizards can be seen too.

4 Islands Tour by Speedboat Koh Ngai, Koh Mook, Koh Kradan and Koh Chuak are located in the area of Trang province but they can be easily reached by speed boat for just 45 minutes from Koh Lanta. Koh Ngai is covered with lots of hard corals around the island and is good for those who like to do shallow water snorkelling. Koh Mook is not famous for the corals reefs but it’s has its own attraction.

Phi Phi Island Tour by Speedboat Phi Phi Island is composed of 2 rocky, tree-covered islands; Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Lay. Phi Phi Don, the larger of two which lies in the north, is well known for its fine beaches and corals formations around the island with its emerald crystal sea water. Phi Phi Lay is smaller and located in the south.
